VALLEY OF THE MILLS

Water has always been a source of life and energy

The Valley of Mills route winds its way through natural beauty and the works of man.

One immediately realises that one is in an environment that preserves almost intact over time the elements of an ancient organisation of the territory and its resources.

Starting from Valle di Sopra, the land of Sanguanelo, one descends and comes to Contrà Rigine where there were once three mills and a pestle; now only the pestle with its external water wheel and cassette remains.

From here begins the saliso, an old path paved in stone and bordered by drystone walls, which leads to a characteristic district that preserves the remains of mills and a community bread oven.

Continue to Valle di Sotto where you can visit the restored mill and the mallet.
