PALAZZON MUSEUM VISIT

A plunge into the past through the rooms of the grandparents’ house

Housed in a characteristic 17th-century building in the heart of the town, the Palazzon Museum represents the memory and testimony of the customs and traditions of the inhabitants of Lusiana. The exhibition spaces of the Palazzon become the ideal setting for the reconstruction of the most significant moments of our grandparents’ way of life.

Inside the halls come to life:

  • the kitchen, developed around the hearth, the hub of family life,
  • the cellar, the place of storage,
  • the room that represents the place of intimacy where the monega warms the bed and the dresser holds the little linen woven and embroidered with expert care,
  • the corner dedicated to the school of yesteryear, when children wrote with nibs,
  • Of great importance is the part dedicated to the ‘casara’ (cheese-maker), which punctually portrays life in the alpine pastures in the municipality and reveals the secrets of cheese-making,
  • the museum’s pride and joy is the part dedicated to the working of straw, a poor art with noble origins, from which the fastughi for the production of sporte and capei were made.

And much more… all to be discovered!

A real blast from the past!
